Today, the board of Driving Valkenswaard International has had to make the difficult decision to cancel the
2023 edition of the event. As we started our preparations for the event late last year, it became apparent that
the stricter environmental regulations could become a roadblock in order to get all required permits and plans
in place in time so we can make our financial and organisational commitments.
The reality is now that the cumulative impact from truck movements, horses, stabling on the environment,
combined with environmental lobby groups actively pursuing delays in government decision making around
these topics means that we as organizers cannot commit to our suppliers, competitors, volunteers for
DVI2023.
It is of course not a decision we take lightly, especially not given the time and money already spend in
searching for ways around the challenges we face.
Our focus will now shift towards DVI2024, to be held from 5-9 June, where we hope that the European,
national and local unrest caused by the lack of clarity around the ever changing environmental regulations will
have settled, so that events like DVI can go ahead.
We thank you all for your continuing support for the sport and DVI and hope to see you in 2024.
